Every relationship has its difficult moments, especially when one person feels their efforts are going unnoticed. In a clever twist on this common frustration, one wife decided to teach her husband a lesson, but the outcome was not at all what she had planned. Tired of waiting for her husband to come home yet again, the woman scribbled a note out of sheer irritation. It read, “I’m done. I’ve left you, so don’t even try to find me.” Her plan, however, involved more than just leaving. She quickly hid under the bed to secretly watch his reaction when he discovered the message.
Soon, the husband arrived. She listened as he moved through the house and finally entered the bedroom. Peeking out, she saw him pick up the note from the dresser. He paused, wrote something on the paper, and then made a phone call. Her heart sank as she listened to his side of the conversation. He said, “She’s finally gone! I know it’s late, but I’m on my way over. Make sure you wear that beautiful French nightgown. I love you, and I can’t wait to see you. We can do anything you want tonight.” After hanging up, he grabbed his keys and hurried out the door, his car speeding away into the night.
The wife crawled out from her hiding spot, her mind racing with anger and heartbreak. She stumbled to the dresser, desperate to see what he had written on her note. Turning it over, she saw his added message, and her anger instantly turned to stunned embarrassment. It said, “I can see your feet. We are out of bread. Be back in five minutes.”
